UK National Curriculum

In England and Wales the national curriculum must be taught in all local-authority-maintained schools. The National Curriculum sets out programmes of study and attainment targets for all subjects in all key stages, with the exceptions of English, Mathematics and Science.

The national curriculum is organized into blocks of years called ‘key stages’ (KS). At the end of each key stage, the teacher will formally assess your child’s performance.
